| Board-Approved Apprenticeship Program | 100% |
| Non-Approved Apprenticeship | 80% |
| Maintenance / Helper | 80% |
| NEC Coursework | 50% |
| Primary Electrical Installation | 100% |
Municipal Journeyman Requirements
Some NC cities issue their own journeyman-level permits:
- Raleigh: 4,000 hours
- Charlotte, Greensboro, Asheville, Wilmington: 8,000 hours
License Renewal
All licenses renew every 3 years on June 30. You need 8 hours of continuing education per renewal period.
